As inhabitants of the marine reserve, we consider ourselves Kaitiakitanga (guardians) of the sea. We strive to protect the reserve by practicing responsible behaviors, such as avoiding damage to marine life, collecting and properly disposing of rubbish, and reporting any illegal activities. Additionally, we collaborate closely with the Department of Conservation to monitor and combat poaching, ensuring the long-term preservation of this unique marine environment.
